Kandy Darling is an A/W 22/23 women’s wear collection that was inspired by the fairy-tale world of “Alice in Wonderland”, Neo-Gothic architecture and the art movement Pop Surrealism. Alice in Wonderland inspired the childlike, wondrous, fairy-tale-like mood and aesthetic of the collection, as well as the subjects featured on the print. The Neo-Gothic Architecture inspired the bold and structural shapes and silhouettes, whereas Pop Surrealism inspired the colour palette of soft purples, pinks and blues. The collection can be described as edgy, playful and colourful day wear, consisting of tailored pieces that can be layered, mixed and matched effortlessly, and easily transition into sophisticated but fun evening wear. The fabrics used in this collection are weightless organza, high-quality wool suiting fabrics, silk taffeta and a rich pink velvet.
