‘Dublin Is Kinky’ is a documentary exploring the themes of queer sexuality and community in an artistic style. As the sound recordist on this film, I loved being a part of a project where I watched people celebrate their interests and identities. Working as part of a diverse group to come together and create a piece of art all of us funnelled our passion into allowed me to learn and grow as both a filmmaker and sound recordist. Being a part of this crew allowed my love of being a part of the sound department flourish. So much so that after shooting this documentary, I sought out work as a sound trainee and got a job working in the sound department on a Screen Ireland funded short film as well as other council funded shorts.
