My collection ‘Devil’s in the Details’ is inspired by haunted buildings
in Ireland and the myths that surround them. I have always loved
visiting old buildings and I appreciate how there is still beauty to be
found among these ruins. On visiting these ancient sites, I was
drawn to the textures of the stones and this is a focal point
throughout the collection. This collection embraces the darker side
of modern tailoring and adds a masculine edge. I want to draw
attention to Irish crafts and vernacular design and I have
collaborated with local Irish knitwear designer Edel MacBride to
produce knit elements inspired by the crumbling stonework. The
fabrics used in this collection are traditional Irish fabrics such as
Donegal tweed and wool, all of which are 100% Irish. The colour
story of dark stormy blues and moody ink tones comes from the
rocks and dereliction of Ireland's past.
