Betty Crichton’s Portrait

INKOGNITO is an A/W 24 collection for both men and women. The inspiration came from a visit to the street artist Banksy's 'Cut and Run' exhibition in Glasgow. I was inspired by his quote, ‘Most artists have an obsession that defines their work. Monet had light, Hockney had colour, I've got police response times.’ The quote made me think about the relationship between graffiti artists and the police.

My grandad was a detective sergeant and a fingerprints expert with An Garda Siochana from the 1960s and I used his techniques and old, handwritten police notebooks to inspire my concept and design direction.

Colours have been inspired by Banksy's work in natural cottons, denim and canvases, with special prints of surveillance, original Garda identification guidelines and fingerprints. A special feature of the garments includes identity tags inside the jackets to give first responders vital information about the wearer in the event of an emergency.
