Jazmine Rowe’s Portrait

MARIPOSA is an Autumn/Winter 24/25 womenswear collection from the brand J.Ro. Inspired by butterflies and their remarkable metamorphosis, the designer has taken silhouettes and textures from their chrysalis shapes and enchanting wing formations. An elegant palette of black and gold makes these pieces timeless, while maintaining a playful edgy glamour for youthful partywear. Exaggerated pleats and ruffles bring movement to the garments, and creating an interesting contrast between the crisp cotton, soft velvet and gold foil shimmer jersey. Structured layered sleeves allude to the butterflies transformation from a resilient caterpillar to a triumphant butterfly, representing the power of personal growth and self-expression through fashion. Butterflies embody the delicate balance between strength and fragility, this is reflected in the choice of fabrics, combining softness with structure. MARIPOSA is designed for a young, feminine customer who wants to feel she can transform into a powerful and confident female while out on the town.
