I produced and directed the short documentary ‘Live Fast, Live Free’, which follows a skateboarder, Phil, as he skates his way through the highs and lows of life.
I also wrote and directed the short drama ‘Forgive and Forget’, about the complex relationship between a young drug dealer, and his estranged grandfather. Both films explore themes of loneliness, relationships and finding your place in life. I wanted to create this film because it shows that the decisions you make can impact others and can also change your relationship with them.
I’m always drawn to films with emotional, character driven stories and that’s what I aimed to create with these films. Making a film with a lot of emotion can be difficult, but for both the documentary and drama, I found that spending time getting to know my cast or contributors, really makes a difference when it comes to them feeling comfortable sharing and being vulnerable in front of the camera.
