I was the production designer on “The Last Drop”. After losing his job, Chris takes his son camping. Struggling with addiction, he learns to prioritize family amidst challenges .
As a designer my job is too visually tell the story, I do this by playing around with colour theory, textures and symbolism. I wanted to convey all the characters’ feelings through colour. I played around with blues for Chris’ character to convey his struggles and yellow for Oisín as he is a bright, innocent character who is the light of Chris’ life. These colours can be seen through props, set and costumes throughout the film.
The aim of my design was to communicate to the audience not just the emotions of the characters, but how they themselves view their own relationship with each other.
