My name is Kristine Konstanse Wilhelmsen and I am the writer and director of “Màlljar”. “Màllljar” meaning Big Fish, explores the intricate dynamic between two men and their friendship, set in a beautiful location by the sea here in Dublin. It’s the lack of communication between our main characters that drives the story forward.
My inspiration to tell this story comes from my life in northern Norway, where fishing has been a big part of my life there. To tell a story about friendship and how it sometimes can be complex is something I and the audience can relate to as the road to communicating again and becoming friends again is a process we all can recognize one way or another.
My approach for the look and feel of “Màlljar” was to use minimal equipment, have natural light, and frame our actors within the scenic backdrop of the Dublin shore.
