As the director of photography for the short drama Summer Girl I used the means of camera to show the feeling of trying to fit into the expectations of those you hold dear. 

By depicting the imagination of a child as a colorful world where she is strong and powerful versus the reality where she is struggling to work things out I tried to show the issues that a person faces when they try their best to not fail in front of someone they idolize and love.

I also wanted to send a message that tells the people who think badly of themselves that their views might not coincide with their expectations of how others see them. I wish for them to understand that it is okay to not be who they are hoped to be and that the right people would love and accept them as they truly are.
