I am the editor of Spots.
When it comes to my editing style, I have a wide variety of inspirations. The main reason is that my workflow is highly adaptive, and so my editing style changes depending on the project. But I’m okay with that because I’m not focused on applying the same style to every film I work on; instead, I aim to create a style that suits each individual film.
In the past, I’ve worked on films with varying tones and pacing. For the first two years, the films I edited were mostly slow-paced dramas. More recently, I worked on Spots, which is a teen film, so the pacing needed to be much faster. I think it was a valuable learning experience because it required me to use techniques I wasn’t familiar with.
My goal is to create edits that not only help the film flow smoothly but also demonstrate attention to detail. Something that can enhance the viewing experience for the audience.
