Claragh House is full of history that begun to be built in the 17th century. In this hospitality project, I have the pleasure to research, explore and present a conversion of the current structure built by a renowned distillery family owner in the 18th century, the Watt Family, into a Boutique Hotel. I wanted to bring a sense of relaxation to guests while keeping the House’s history alive. The numerous arches observed in the building were the origin for my concept inspiration, where I could apply its simple, soft and organic lines to both interior and exterior spaces, resulting in elegant and contemporary spaces without losing their essence. The proposed design space invites guests to be pleased by the wonderful surrounding landscaping while enjoying comfort and wellness activities and, to feel close to nature following my and careful selection of natural, local and sustainable materials.
