Oskar Huseby’s Portrait

Claragh House, a historic property in Donegal, is the site we have been tasked to transforming into a boutique hotel with lasting character and charm. I have chosen to tailor it specifically for wedding weekends and intimate celebrations. The design concept, "Aged in Time," draws a gentle comparison to the way relationships mature with time and care. The renovation respects the building's heritage, using authentic, natural materials that connect to the Tyrconnell whiskey brand, originally produced by the Watt family, who once owned Claragh House. Wood and copper bring warmth and history, while green accents nod to the brand's original whiskey packaging. This palette blends tradition with a clean, modern style that suits both the building and the surrounding landscape. The hotel includes dedicated spaces for ceremonies, receptions, overnight stays, and relaxed day-after gatherings, creating a seamless and memorable experience for all wedding guests and their loved ones.
