The Chocolate Factory located on the North side of Dublin City, is a historic and protected structure. Previously a factory, it currently has a bright future as a collaborative office. The space will represent a variety of professions including designers, marketing, and a pottery workshop. The factory is a growing place that changes with time, so my concept is focusing on the historic contrast from what it used to be, to what it is today. To incorporate this in my design, I have divided the floors based on the occupations and added a feature on each level to draw the workers to each other for collaboration. The materials are inspired by the nearby historic Henrietta Street. The colour palette of red, blue, and beige will be used throughout, with complimentary timber details to enhance the space and create a welcoming feeling.
